Fees will be appended to each citation. The specifics of these fees will vary based on the nature of the violation committed. The registered owner is responsible for understanding the structure of these fees, which are designed to further encourage compliance with distracted driving regulations.

4. Payment Deadline
All citations must be paid within thirty (30) days from the date of issuance. Timely payment is crucial; failure to settle the citation within this timeframe will result in additional penalties.

5. Late Fees and Penalties
If payment is not made within the stipulated thirty (30) days, late fees and penalties will begin to accrue. These additional charges will be detailed in the notice accompanying the citation, and prompt attention is encouraged to avoid increased financial burdens.

6. Non-Payment Consequences
Should the registered owner fail to remit payment on or after the thirty-first (31st) day, the employing authority reserves the right to place an anti-driving windshield device on the vehicle at the expense of the owner. This device is intended to deter further incidents of distracted driving and must be removed only upon satisfactory resolution of the outstanding citation.

7. Appeal Rights
If the registered owner believes that the citation has been issued in error, they retain the right to appeal the citation. To initiate this process, a formal request for a hearing date must be submitted via email. This request must be received before the expiration of the 30-day pay period, specifically by midnight Central Time.

8. Hearing Request Details
The appeal email must include pertinent information such as the citation number, the vehicle's registration details, the owner's name, and a brief explanation of the grounds for the appeal. Incomplete requests may result in the appeal being rejected, resulting in the continued obligation to pay the citation.

9. Outcome Notification
The registered owner will receive written notification regarding the decision after the hearing. If the appeal is upheld, the citation may be dismissed, and all associated fees waived. Conversely, if the appeal is denied, the original citation amount and any accrued fees must be settled promptly.

10. Compliance with State Laws
All parties involved in the Distracted Driver Safety Program must comply with applicable state laws concerning distracted driving. Acknowledgment of these terms does not preempt local and state law enforcement efforts aimed at ensuring roadway safety.

11. Acknowledgment of Terms
Acceptance of the citation indicates the registered owner's understanding and agreement to these terms and conditions. It is incumbent upon the owner to familiarize themselves with the full scope of their obligations under this program.

12. Modifications to Terms
The governing body reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Notifications of any changes will be disseminated to registered owners through official communications.
